San Francisco, CA–Last week, professional trade show staffers from Spark Presentations helped consumer electronics giant Samsung showcase its Galaxy Tab 3 tablet to attendees and exhibitors in a first-of-its-kind trade show partnership.
Spark staffers were booked by Samsung to deliver product training and on-site support at the TCT Conference, a medical trade show for interventional cardiologists, held at the Moscone San Francisco Convention Center from October 26-November 1.
In a bold arrangement with Samsung, the Cardiovascular Research Foundation, which runs the TCT Conference, provided each of its estimated 11,500 paid attendees and each of its 150 exhibitors with a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet upon arrival at the show. All tablets had been “flashed” before the show, a customization process that added five conference-specific apps to the tablet’s Home screen.
One of these apps, TCT2013, became the digital centerpiece of the conference. Attendees used it to check into seminars, apply for Continuing Education (CE) credits, send other attendees instant messages, stream seminars live, rate programs, download seminar slides, find exhibitors, and complete many other show-specific tasks.
The conference hired 75 local assistants to help attendees set up and navigate their new tablets and apps. To help these assistants, Samsung hired Spark to provide a customized three-hour training program about show background and Samsung Galaxy Tab basics. The training was built by Spark owner and trade show trainer Andy Saks, and delivered by Saks on site the morning the show opened.
Spark’s team of trade show staffers then remained on site throughout the entire show, working several twelve-hour-plus days to help assistants, attendees and exhibitors with tablet and app tech support. They received universal praise for their professionalism, product knowledge and dedication.
This was the third trade show for which Samsung booked a Spark staffing team. Samsung also booked Spark staffers to attract, greet, qualify and pitch attendees in its booths at the InfoComm 2013 trade show at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando (see press release), and at the at the ISTE 2013 trade show at the San Antonio Convention Center (see press release).
